EESA’s Contractor Policy – Hiring of Contractors
The hiring of contractors to perform work on club property, or to perform work on behalf of the East Elgin Sportsmen’s Association will be hired by, and/or approved by the EESA Board of Directors only.
The Board of Directors must be made fully aware, and approve of, all purposes of hiring outside contractors, dates and times of work being performed, as well as gate requirements to allow access to property.
If you have any questions, or are unsure of an activity, please reach out to one of the members of the board via our contact page, or call the clubhouse or club mobile phone.
General Rules
The East Elgin Sportsmen’s Association is a members only club Open 24/7 with valid ID / Access Card used to open the gate. Members must display their ID card at all times while on the property. Outdoor ranges may be used from sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week. Indoor range may be used 24 hours a day with indoor range access on card. For complete rules and regulations regarding range use, etc…, please see the links to the range documents above.
Video Recording Policy
The East Elgin Sportsmen’s Association makes use of video cameras throughout the property to increase security, monitor and investigate incidents of unsafe activity, property damage, theft, harassment, or any other reasonably disconcerting event. To read about the specific policy written to govern the implementation and monitoring of our system, please see our Surveillance Recording Policy here.
Members and their guests are not allowed to film on club property without expressed permission from the Board of Directors.
Range Officers
The organized RSO schedule is listed on the member calendar for the indoor range only. Anyone acting in the role of the RSO must not shoot during their RSO time. These organized RSO days are valuable for new or inexperienced shooters, or members who do not yet have indoor range access.
Alcohol and Cannabis/marijuana Policy
The East Elgin Sportsmen’s Association is an Alcohol and cannabis Free Zone. No alcoholic beverages or marijuana/cannabis products are allowed on EESA property at any time.
Explosive / Metal Reactive Targets
Explosive targets are prohibited on all EESA ranges. This includes binary explosives like Tannerite. Metal reactive targets must be shrouded and/or bunkered in a manner pre-approved by the CFO prior to use on any range. Therefore, we have implemented a “No Metal Reactive” policy.
Shotgun Ranges
With the exception of pre-authorized events, shotgun use is limited to:
- Slugs on the 300 meter range
- Birdshot on the 45 meter range on patterning screens only or clay wires
- Birdshot on the trap range
SHOTGUNS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE 50 OR 100 METER RANGES DUE TO EXCESSIVE SHOTGUN CAUSED DAMAGE OF TARGET STANDS
Guest Policy
Members with guests are now required to use one shooting station only and only one person at a time shooting, this change is the result of recent incidents by unsupervised guests. This also assures shooting stations will be available for members.
New members during their probationary period (90 Days) are allowed to bring only 1 guest at a time.
Each member is allowed to bring a maximum of 2 guests at a time up to 3 times per year. This means no guests may attend more than 3 times in a year.
Guests MUST complete and place in the office mail slot a Guest / Visitor waiver located in the club house. All ranges also have waivers and mail boxes supplied to deposit forms. This form MUST be completed or the member is putting the club at risk. If the form is not completed the Guest / Visitor is NOT covered by our insurance and any incidents that may occur are the sole responsibility and liability of the member who brought the guest. Failure to complete the required form(s) will result in a 30 day suspension of guest privileges. Understand that members are 100% responsible for the actions of their guests at all times and must not be left unattended at any time. Members must ensure their guests do not have unsupervised access to any firearm unless that person is licensed for that type of firearm. Supervision of a shooter on the firing line is one on one.
